Freeport, Frostfell and an Exceptional Combination
“Iiiiiiichuuuu!” carried the squeaky tune of a young Human woman. Sobia shut the old wooden door of the Freeport apartment and clasped her pale hands together. “Iiiiiiichuuuuu!” the Dirge sang, a dry tune that carried to the apartment next door, disgruntling a rather large Ratonga family.
Upstairs in the large dark framed double bed a large scaled tail swung back and forth as the owner buried himself in pillows. A well trimmed clawed hand dug into the fluff, letting a few feathers loose; the other grabbed at the poorly made red quilt and snuggled up into it further, sheltering the reptile from the crisp morning.
Twitching her nose slightly, the blonde pig-tailed girl took a few more steps inside. Bright blue eyes set upon the unlit candles in the decorated pine tree placed in the living room and the two neatly wrapped presents underneath. Candies were placed in a bowel on the dining table and the fireplace was empty and cold. Pouting, the girl pulled at her long red tunic and clamored up the stairs on all fours.
As she hit the top of the stairs, two little orbs preyed upon the breathing form within the bed, shifting only slightly to watch the tip of his tail fall out of the blankets. Like a metronome it ticked back and forth, keeping perfect time. A most wicked of grins crept upon those glossy pink lips and an even more diabolical plan crept into her eyes. With unusual speed for the petite woman, she leapt from the top of the stairs to pounce upon the resting Bruiser.
Ichu hissed out as she startled him, pulling the pillows from his face to see his attacker. Meeting the sweet and entirely innocent visage of the young female, he hissed again in displeasure and pulled himself back under the blankets.
“Ichu …” she pushed at him, trying to rouse the large male from his rest. “Ichu you said you were gonna light the fire and the cannndllesssuh …”
“It’s cold.” A muffled grunt came. Sobia reached under the comforter and started to gently stroke the soft scales around his collarbone and neck leaving the man in almost a purr.
“It isn’t that cold … but still, lighting the fire would get you warmed up faster!” She pulled her hand out from under the blanket and bounced a few times on the bed. “So up up up!”
A hand scaled with a dark olive tone reached out and started to search for discarded clothing left upon the ground below the bed. Unable to find such garments he peeked his nose out, letting only the sparkle of his slitted eyes examine the area with the morning light.
Sobia had already beaten him to the clothes, holding up the dirty leather gi with a wrinkled face.
“These have blood all over them! You silly male, you’re supposed to scrub the blood off before it dries. Here! I bought you some Frostfell clothes!” pulling the little bag off of her back, she opened the flap and revealed a very merry colored suit. Dropping the red and green outfit into his outstretched hand she gave a very doe-eyed look to her lover.
“You expect me to wea-“ he looked up, meeting those big blue eyes and pouting face. “If you light the fire and promise me I won’t have to wear these outside, I’ll put them on under the blanket.”
“Deal!” she leaned over and kissed his nose, leaving the male with a sharp toothed grin. Retreating back under the blankets with the garments he began to move around slightly, dressing himself within the warmth.
Bouncing down the stairs she dropped her bag upon the table and kneeled next to the fire smiling sweetly whilst a dreary funeral march hummed from the back of her throat. Pulling a few logs together, dropping a bit of kindling into the mix; she grabbed a wooden match and pulled the strike against her leather bracer. The fire lit up her blue eyes as she leaned over and began to light the fire.
When she dropped the blown out match into the small flames, one large hand slipped over her eyes. Instinctively shutting them, lashes brushing against Ichu’s soft scales, she smiled as he crouched down to pull her into his lap. Leaving something upon her thighs, he removed the hand and leaned over protectively. With a nip to her shoulder, she opened her eyes and looked at the little wrapped box with the perfectly positioned bow.
“Awww, it’s Gift Giving Day, we have all day to open these.”
“I want you to open yours now.” He whispered into her ear, holding onto his lover delicately as the fire began to warm the both of them.
Smiling she untied the silver bow. Setting the ribbon aside, she pulled the red paper from the box and hurriedly revealed her gift. Pulling out a small handcrafted doll, she leaned back further while examining the details.
She pet down the sides of a small Iksar plushie, which of resembled the likeness of the man holding her. Each scale was embroidered green thread, the little pair of button eyes polished and the lamb-leather miniature gi was held into place with soft braided string.
“Thank you Ichu … now whenever I am alone, I’ll take this up and have you beside me always.”
“That’s right, I want you with me always, always beside me Sobia … there is something you missed, in the pocket.” A clawed finger pointed to the small pocket upon the doll’s outfit then retreated back to cuddling with the little woman.
She twitched her nose then curiously peered inside the pocket. A deep red glint pierced her gaze and as she tilted her head and picked out the small golden ring with the little faceted blood ruby, she breathed in sharply.
“I love you Sobia, will you be my wife?” For once the woman was speechless. Just a slow nod came in response with him placing the delicate jewelry upon her finger.
After many moments of silence and sweet reflection upon the morning’s surprise, she pulled his gift from the side and handed it to him, licking her lips. Scooting off of him, letting the man sit closer to the fire as he started to untie the green bow, she waited patiently as he pulled out his gifts.
“A china tea set and some of your herbal blend.” He smiled and breathed in the scent of the mixed herbs in the cloth pouch.
“I know you don’t have a nice tea set so I thought you might like this, I bought it though, but the tea is a new spice blend. I hope you will like it, I just learned to make it the other day.” Smiling just as sweetly as before, the woman sat upon her knees and pushed her hands into her lap.
“I love it.” He reached forward and drew his claws across her soft pink cheek leaving no scratch behind. With a most interesting and intimate of kisses, he swiftly pressed against her lips as they both embraced in the firelight glow of the dim apartment.
“Wait until I tell the girls.” She said after their most intimate of touches, leaving her mate in a gruff fit of chuckles.
