It was a cloudy day not to cloudy but enough to make it a beautiful sight to look at. Ased awoke a little early as he promised a friend of his that they would spend the day hunting and exploring outside of the city. He met his friend Etude at a tavern a few days ago; he was reading a book on healing herbs and ased sat next to him. As they began to talk Ased learned that Etude was a Scholar/Bard that used to attend the Qeynos academy and now he graduated but still loved to learn new things.
Ased went to the tavern were he met Etude, “So you ready to go search for some healing herbs?” Etude asked. “Sure let head out!” Ased replied. They walked out of the city and into the hills where they began to look for good game and look for healing herbs. After walking for a few hours they found a garden of healing herbs and the walked into it to study it better. But as they walked the ground crumbled beneath them and they fell. They found them selves in a dark place “Where in the name of Tunare are we?” Etude asked. “Your guess is as good as mine” Ased said “But I can’t see a thing.” At that moment all the torches around them lit and everything was visible.
“I am guessing thie is a crypt?” Ased said looking at all the skulls and coffins.
“It would seem so.” Said Etude “But I never remember studying anything about a crypt in the academy.”
“Yeah and I have never heard of anything like this back in Surefall” Ased said
“Well we aren’t going any where so let’s go explore” Etude suggested
“Mind as well” Ased said
As they walked they found many writings on the walls explaining who everyone was here and telling there story. Many were scribes who worked on something only written as “The Book”. Before they could soak all this in a coffin opened and out came a zombie. “WHOA!” Ased exclaimed when he looked back. Etude turned around and looked startled for a second then got a determined look on his face “Ill attack you heal!” He ordered. Before Ased could complain about how much he hated just healing Etude drew his sword and attacked. Etude got the first hit but the zombie got a clean shot at him Ased looking bored just cast heal and watched. Etude got a clean slice dodged the zombies attack then sliced again. Ased got to bored and cast ignite the zombie burst into flames and died.
“You had to do that didn’t you?” Etude asked “I hate being only a healer” Ased says. They both laughed then decided to continue into the crypt. As they made their way down they came to a huge door, it looked like an ordinary door but when they tried to open it, it wouldn’t open. On each side of it were stone gargoyles. “Maybe they have something to do with the door.” Ased suggested. “It is possible” Etude said.
Just then there was a earth quake and the gargoyles sprung to life. “You know, I don’t like this place” Ased said “I agree but they are protecting something” Etude said “That’s true” Ased said. The gargoyles attacked and they both dodged Etude attacked, piercing the gargoyle threw the heart it died instantly. Ased cast ignite and the gargoyle was so distracted by itself burning Etude stabbed it in the heart and it died also. “That was easy” Ased said. “Yeah I’m surprised” Etude said.
The door opened and inside was a book with millions of pages.
“This must be the book the writing was describing!” Etude exclaims. “This book holds the history of everything from the beginning of time up till now!”
“That might mean I can find my ancestors true name.” Ased thought out loud.
“What?
“Oh nothing…”
