What type of quests are you interested in running and why do they interest you?

Progressive quests have been keeping my interest in WoW. Storylines building upon each other. EQ1 was definitely lacking this aspect in the early game. Quests, in EQ, were pretty much optional for leveling. Which is weird, considering it's called EverQUEST. Quests which are worth doing for more than XP would certainly be my focus.

I completely agree with you. Anything that is much more interactive and has a purpose rather than gaining experience is what I am looking for.

In EQ1 you would have no clue were to go next cuz there we no waypoints or magical lines. I remember i tried doing one once and it said go find some guy but didn't tell you were he was.
That made quests nearly impossible in EQ1

I liked the ambiguity of the quests in EQlive. It gave you cause to explore and use some reasoning. Adding waypoints would make things way too linear.
I heard WoW had the same problem...too linear.
I look for freedom in quests....you have a goal, but how you acheive it is your own problem. I could track down this NPC, or I could do a side quest to learn his identity, or I could just skip him alltogether and kill some other mob to make up for it.
Options are key for me.

Agree with DC here, From what I have read so far the quests are many, and are actually enjoyable. I would hope the quests "suck" you in. Something nice and FAT to chew on as far as the content, and a good dramatic storyline for desert.
....um..just made myself hungry...

I would like quests to have a single, and party mode. Meaning if you have a team, you can do the same quest with new turns. Or just make it a little more interesting with more people. Something to that effect.

Dynamic Quests (you'll learn Dynamic is my favorite word.)
Not Dynamic in the sense that they are generated randomly on the spot (those are nice but tend to get repeatitive and boring).
There should just be more than one way to solve the quest. By allowing the player to make seemingly insignificant ( or very significant) choices the quest can be experienced from many different angles.
Let's have example time! Remember the movie Labyrinth? If not, you should. Go rent it now. Now for those of us who have, there are several dynamic elements going on in that story. What if Sarah hadn't listened to the catapillar and gone in the opposite direction. Well, she would have went straight to the castle! Bypassing every bit of hell she went through completely, and sparing us from that horrible "Dance, magic, dance" David Bowie song. Later in the movie, she approaches two doors, one of them always tells the truth, and one of them always lies. Classic mind puzzle, nothing new there. Now, if she chose right, she would have bypassed even more hell, and gotten to the castle much sooner. She ofcourse chose poorly and wound up falling down a shoot of creepy disembodied hands, furthering the length of her quest.
Was this so terrible though? Not really, she went through more hell, but she encountered new allies, and even friends along the way. The seemingly "wrong" choices brought about positive consequences. What if she did go directly to the castle at the beginning? Her fight with the Goblin King may have very well overwhelmed her.
Do you see where I'm going with this? Adding dynamic elements to a story-driven quest could make the outcome, or the methods of the outcome, completely unpredictable.
Choices should matter in quests, and you should be presented with as many as possible. Single player games suck as Baldur's Gate, etc have gotten this method of questing down to a fine art. I'd love to see an MMO such as EQ2 refine it for the online realm.

I would like to see more quests where you are offered items such as furniture or maybe even pets. I would also like to see more mid-level 10-15 quests. Face it, once you have finished all the city quests there's not much left except killing the same monster all over again. My two cents
I am Vanilla Flavoured.
I am one of the most popular flavours in the world. Subtle and smooth, I go reasonably with anyone, and rarely do anything to offend. I can be expected to be blending in in society. What Flavour Are You?

I would like to see some more quests for charecters in the line of boot strutters guide. these promt players to explore the zones. not just go camp a mob and leave. All so the dynamic quest idea is a very good on.. lets have some freewill in the game!!!
