I was thinking about the 3 really significant moments in gaming for me and wondering what some other folks may have as their own monumental moments...
Most significant gaming feature: Whoever came up with the gaming feature of incremental rewards was a cruel genius. I am sure it dates back long ago in gaming but the one that really demonstrated this concept best for me was the way it was used in Dungeon Siege. I remember loading the the game right after being laid off one afternoon and before I knew the sun was coming up and it was a new day. WOW a serious time synch.
Most significant gaming business implementation: Hats of to id software for making Castle Wolfenstein shareware without realizing it they helped kick start the public internet (IMHO) as a game delivery system more than anything else and made the industry review the entire game business model. No longer could distributors control the distribution chain and retailers could not longer demand high prices just for shelf space.
Personal gaming moment of greatest significance: Starting our first guild city in Shadowbane on the Vengeance server.
Ok those are mine so come on share yours!

Wow, great list! Unfortunately I can't make a brilliant list like yours, but I can name the three games that most shaped by gaming addiction.
Bounty Bob: It started here. I was 13 or 14 and we got a Commodore 64. And this platform game got me totally hooked. There were a lot of other great C64 games, but the seeming never ending number of levels and unlockable secret codes to make shortcuts made me a gamer. I was totally hooked.
Dark Age of Camleot: I actually only played this game for less than a year, and never got really far in it. But it was my first MMO and I realized what I was. To me an MMO is more than a game. It is a fantasy world were I can loose myself. More than any game I played before I was really inside the game. I have never been without an MMO ever since.
City Of Heroes: I has gone beyond the game itself now. I discovered real roleplaying and GameAmp. Both go way beyond the time I play the actual game. Thinking up character concepts, writing down background stories, reliving adventures; It has all become part of life. And what can I say about GameAmp? It is in my blood now. And all that thanks to a game I was actually not at all interested in.
