| ROK is out today, first impressions? |

Well I am at my day job right now so not even sure if the games is really up and running now but with the NDA lifted and the possibility that the game is goine I am sure all of us would like to hear from some folks that have played the new expansion. So come on now and share your thoughts. As lame as this may sound to some I am really excited about the new reactive music system that I think changes is supposed to react to how well combat is going for the player or group.

I've only had a quick look at the starting area... couldn't resist ;-) ... but I did notice the combat music change as the fight progressed. SOE has done a nice job with the Sarnak models with their hunched over stance and gait too.

Well a few days into ROK now and I definately like it. The biggest change that hit me was the change to the crafting and the item stack limit. At first I did not like the new crafting method which seemed both easier and harder at times but I am adjusting to it. On the one hand you will craft level faster under the new system but on the other hand it is mostly an all or nothing proposition so if crafting with a rare you now have no margin for error. I think some folks that purchased this one will also enjoy some of the features that have actually been in place for awhile via other expansions but they are just getting now since ROK is a complete version of EQ2 plus all expansions and Adventure packs. The in game character voice overs are especially nice but were actually part of Desert of Flames the first expansion. I bet after the frenzy from this new one wears off we will have more points of view added. :)
