| A begginers guide to kunark |

|
I will admit i didnt write this so all credit goes to Taear-venekor-eq2 but thought id share this often helpful quick guide to kunark
How do I get there?
Kunark is reached via the boat on either Commonlands or Antonica dock. Both of these locations have immunity, although moving around too much will remove it. The boat takes around 5 minutes to arrive.
To reach Timorous Deep you can either go to a special griffon tower on Butcherblock Mountains beach or else use the Sinking Sands carpet. The carpet is only avaliable if you are evil aligned.
I had 100 achievement when I looted Achievement Items/killed nameds, can I still get credit?
If you had 100 achievement when you (for example) killed the Festering Hag and picked up a War Fist, you'll get achievement again now if you were to kill her again. For myself this means all of Unrest is open as well as many many raid instances. Your personal experience here may vary but it's always worth finding out.
Kylong Plains
The first and most important quests to finish are those from Bobrin, they are flagged as Hallmark quests and begin with gathering 24 drolvarg teeth.
The mobs here range from level 70-72. There are two dungeons here - Karnor Castle and Chardok. The castle is around 72+, Chardok is more like 75+. Neither of these are instances, although they contain instances within them in a similar way to Crushbone Keep.
Kylong Plains is divided into three maps. The central map has two quest hotspots - the docks and the area to the north west of Karnor's Castle. The eastern map has a camp in the very far south east. The western map has Teren's Grasp as well as Highton, which is a hive north of Teren's Grasp.
Teren's grasp is a city with a broker, mender and all the other things you would see in Freeport, Neriak, Qeynos or Kelethin. You require 20k faction to use most of these facilities as well as 50k faction in order to buy the special Legendary gear.
Teren's grasp is the only faction in this zone. You need to get the body quest from the lake outside the docks as well as the body quests near the Ember Wasp Hive of Highton in order to get 50k faction to buy the gear. However, said gear is only good if you are upgrading from mastercrafted - for people like Secretsquirrel, Aristai and others who have only just reached T7 you may find one or two (very) nice items in there for you.
You should be level 72 before you leave this zone, with around 65 quests completed. The zone outs are east to the Fens of Nathsar and northwest to Jarsath Wastes.
Fens of Nathsar
This zone is from 72-74. You will find that many of the mobs here are hostile to you unless you complete the quest you can get when you zone over from Kylong.
There is a raid zone in this area named the Tombs, but no other dungeons. You will find four factions of note here as well - Rillis, Bathezid's Watch, The Bellywumpers and the Exiles of Drogan. They have cities and faction merchants. With Rillis and the Watch many of the quests will involve killing members of the other faction. Currently the Bellywumper faction is bugged. You must get to 30k to continue the quest lines for them, but the only way to do this is to do a repeatable quest that is currently out of the game due to a relog bug. I expect this to be fixed within a week or two.
You do not have to worry about doing the quests and lowering your faction with the others, this will not happen. Every quest can be done without any more than 200 faction loss with another one of the groups.
The Watch has a city to the west, Rillis has a city in the centre of the map. With the Watch you can kill the fishmen at the Ruins to raise your faction. Because of this doing Rillis quests is the best bet first - you can afford to lose a lot of Watch faction since it is easy to raise with the fish.
The bellywumpers are badgers in the north of the map, they have no city but they do have merchants.
The Exiles are a small group of spell casting goblins near the Ruins of Cabilis. They give very good legendary quest rewards at the end of their quest line and unlike every other faction only require 10k to buy their faction gear.
If you use leather armour, you should do the questline for Pulnil the Haggler in the Bellywumper camp to be given a legendary leather tunic with a mez proc. It is an exceptionally easy questline.
In general Rillis sells items for Warriors, Bellywumper items are for scouts, Exile items are for mages and Watch items are for priests. This isn't set in stone but their best items tend to be for that archetype. Each group also sells crafting scrolls up to level 75. They are no-trade.
Every one of these groups is a quest hotspot, with Rillis in the Center of the map, the watch in the west, the two Fens in the middle east and the Span of Sathir (Rillis Faction) in the west if you follow the road.
You should ideally be nearly level 74 before you leave here for the Jungle in the east. There is a questline started by Pulnil the Haggler when you hit 74 that will lead you directly into the Jungle and reward you for it too.
Kunzar Jungle
The quests in Kunzar begin at level 74 and most of the mobs in the area are of similar level. Once again it caters for people between two levels - 74 and 76. The quest rewards here are somewhat better than of previous locations, but the quests themselves are not paticularly harder.
This said, there are many repeatable quests in this zone. Most people will give you a quest, then give you another one named "Collecting [item], again". It is worth doing this quest at least once when it becomes the 'again' version. These quests will all raise faction with whoever is giving them, making faction in this zone an absolute breeze.
There are many factions here. They are not laid out as cleanly as in the Fens however. These factions are Sebilissian , Runzar's Renegades, City of Jasilik and Iksar Villagers. There is also a Plunderer camp to the far north east that has a faction and a few merchants, but very little in the way of quests.
You are likely to have -50k Serillian faction from killing the mobs in Kylong Plains, but you shouldn't worry about it as there are many quests to get in Serilis and none of the agressive mobs there can see through stealth.
Many of the Iksar Villager quests will require you to kill City members, but again this won't lower your faction too much especially with the repeatable quests avaliable. The Iksar, the city and Sebilis all have merchants, but the iksar merchants are spread out much more than the other two, since they do not have one specific location.
The quests here appear to give more experience than the ones in the Fens, and you will discover level 74 going by extremely quickly.
There is one contested dungeon in this zone as well as an overland dungeon called the "City of Mist". The contested dungeon is Sebilis, and contains a raid zone, a few instances and Cincinnatus' mum. This dungeon is around level 75-78, making it a lower level than Chardok.
It also contains two contested epics. They are both X2, one is Trakanasaurus Rex. He is level 80 and in the far south east of the map. One is level 82, a dragon near the City of Mist that only spawns at night. Neither have been killed yet on Venekor.
There are two exits to this zone, both to the Fens of Nathsar. One leads into the large river at the bottom of the fens. You should be level 76 before leaving this zone to travel to the west of Kylong Plains and into the Jarsath Wastes.
