Dragons of autumn twighlight

I'll admit im a Fantasy fiction reader and proud of it and very pleased that one of the books that started me along this path has finally made it...well straight to DvD but im looking forward to it and can honestley say its about time

"Dragonlance: Dragons of Autumn Twilight" will be released on DVD on 15 January 2008!

Cant wait and hope they make enough to release many more Dragonlance adventures

RE: Dragons of autumn twighlight

Of all the Fantasy series I have read I would definately put Stephen R. Donaldsons Chronicles of Thomas Covenant first but would have the Dragon Lance series as a close second. I would have missed this release probably so thanks very much for posting this and I bet more than a few folks here will want to pick this up in January. In this same genre I would also have to give a strong nod to Terry Brooks and his Shannara series.

RE: Dragons of autumn twighlight

I always liked Legends over Chronicles. Heh, it didn't have a huge gap in the story like Chronicles. I would not have known of this either, thanks for the heads up! It can't but be better that that other D&D movie...

Stephen R Donaldson is indeed one of the best writers in the field. I'm so glad he's come out of retirement after reading one of my other favorite writers, Steve Erikson. (Malazan Tales of the Fallen) Along with Neal Stephenson (Cryptonomicon, baroque cycle) they make up "the Three Steve's" who I heartily recommend to anyone. They're three completely different writers, but awesome at their own field of expertise and the best at stimulating to think and dream on your own.

RE: Dragons of autumn twighlight

So many fond memmories brought up by this post and so good prospects for future reading. It does remind me that since I started playing MMO's I have not managed to read or reread any good print books. I will be trapped with family away from any technoology later this month so I will have to choose between re reading Lord Fouls Bane or the first Dragon Lance book in those quite moments where kids or pets are not trying to destroy something. :)
So is anyone else going to be away from tech during the holidays and do any of you plan to read a print book during the break?

Not able to break away from Tech this year, but I am reading "Reaper's Gale" by Steve Erikson during Night Shifts when it's all quiet but for the low humming of fans and slow spinning of disks in the server-room next door.

You might want to combine a few things? Read the Dragonlance novel to the kids, I suspect Neal Stephenson might be a bit beyond them, but reading a fantasy tale to kids can be quite the experience.

RE: Dragons of autumn twighlight

Lani completely talked me into Steve Erikson's saga. So I went to the bookstore and bought the first two books in the series. I don't have time to read a lot (or actually 'make time'), but a few lost half hours here and there already got me hooked on the story. And since Friday will be my last working day of the year I am sure I'll be spending a lot more time with it.

And on the subject of great books I have to recommend Jacqueline Carey's books, of course. She picked me as her main character. How can that not be worthy reading material :)

Actually reading the DragonLance books to the little ones is an excellent idea, thanks Lani! :) Ironically my job has me right next to the server closet as well so it will be nice to get away from that hum of fans as well.
