Achievement Points (AA)
Starting at level 10, characters can earn Achievement Points ("AA"). As of the EoF expansion, a character may earn up to a maximum of 100 AA points.
Once earned, you spend Achievement Points to improve your character's abilities and attributes. For each class there are several different areas in which you can improve, but it's not possible to earn enough points to improve all areas. Your choices will determine the areas of specialization for your character.
Earning AAs
You earn AAs by one of five means:
- Killing certain named mobs for the first time
- Looting certain treasured items
- Exploring new areas
- Completing quests
- Getting to level 70 and directing your regular xp to AA xp.
You can track your AA experience by looking at the achievement experience bar in the Achievements dialog, or by right-clicking your XP bar and selecting Show Achievement XP.
Spending AAs
To spend an AA, press L to open the Achievements dialog. You'll see two trees available: one for your class (example: Brawler Tree) and one for your sub-class (example: Bruiser Tree). You can spend up to 50 points in each tree.
You can buy skills only at the very top of each tree initially, and most skills require you to invest multiple points before the next skill below it can be purchased. It's advisable to study the tree carefully to look for your "must have" skills and traits, and plan to invest your points to unlock those.
Resetting Your Spent AAs
If you decide you'd like to change the way you've spent your AAs, you can click the "Special: Reset Tree" button in one of the trees in the Achievement dialog. This allows you to respend the point from that tree as you'd like, in either tree.
Note that resetting your AAs can cost you! You may have a free respec available to you from LU37 but after that you must pay an < Achievement Counsel > NPC at least 10g per respec, and the cost increases each time. Respec with care!
