| Barbarians are the very tall and muscular cousin to the human. Although they share many of the physical traits with humans, they far outpower them in sheer strength. Rising nearly 7 feet in height, barbarians traditionally wear their hair long due to the cold climate of the far north that their tribes are accustomed to. This served the purpose of assisting them in surviving the harsh winters of Halas within the frozen tundra of Everfrost. |

Skin Color
Barbarians made their home in the frozen northern regions long ago, but have since adapted to much warmer climates. Because of such, their skin color ranges from pale to bronze. However, those that have most recently arrived in refuge are mostly pale due to their skin being covered the majority of the time.
Hair Color
Barbarian hair color is very similar to that of their human cousins in that it can be one of various colors. Their hair ranges from black to brown or red. White or grey hair is often seen on the more older warriors or shamans.
Demeanor
Barbarians are a proud race of which the traditional majority has often followed the path of the warrior. They have a history grounded in nearly a thousand years of merciless clan warfare. Their savage ways have been diluted due to exposure to civilization, but the soul of a barbarian still harbors the raw rage that has driven their race since they were created. Most barbarians are very tolerate of other races and are willing to ally with any in the name of justice. Insulting or dishonorable behavior towards or in the presence of a barbarian will yield you their wrath.
Faith
While many barbarians worship the Marr twins who created them, fighters tend to honor the militaristic traditions of Rallos Zek. This race's highly developed sense of justice inspires many to worship the Tribunal, which can spur near fanatical devotion amongst the religious caste.
Background
Barbarians originally settled in the frozen tundra of Everfrost in their racial capitol of Halas. They aren't known for their advances in architecture as their homes are very primitive by human standards. They use raw resources found in nature to construct their homes and larger buildings. They often decorate the interior of all their buildings with trophies from battle or competition as well as various animal skins. The creation of the barbarians began the period in Norrath known as the Age of Blood. They marched on anyone that neighbored their homeland, including other barbarians, in the interest of growing in strength and power through conquest. Eventually the wiser members of the barbarian race became the mothers and fathers of the human race.
Recent History
Barbarians withdrew from Halas at the start of the Rallosian War as it began to fall to a stronger and more savage race of snow orcs. Once the orcs were finally driven from Everfrost, many that returned to find their home in ruins decided to remain among the humans in the cities of men. Those that did so survived to this day. Most of those in Everfrost and Halas were destroyed by recent events. |
